SMS Awarded RBSG Approved Supplier Status
August 2007
Secure Mail Services (SMS) has been awarded The Royal Bank of Scotland
Approved Supplier status for 2007. The award recognises SMS’ achievements
as a ‘best performing supplier’.
The criteria against which SMS was and continues to be judged include
Cost, Management/Strategy/Financial, Quality/Delivery/Service, Process
Management, Innovation & Service Development and Corporate Responsibility.
A long-standing supplier to RBS, SMS initially began delivering debit
cards with an annual volume in the 100,000’s. Following the proactive
change of approach by the SMS management team in 2004, RBS credit cards
were added to the portfolio.
In April 2005, SMS developed and introduced a new bespoke ‘Secure
Post’ service for RBS in the UK to meet its requirement to deliver
business chequebooks. The Secure Post product has since been used by a
number of other significant customers of SMS. Personal chequebook deliveries
were introduced in October 2006, concentrating on fraud ‘hot spot’
areas.
The number of annual courier consignments handled for RBS has increased
more than three-fold since 1995.
As one of the world’s largest financial institutions with operations
around the globe, RBS continues to deliver strong growth across its businesses.
A fundamental aspect of managing its growth is RBS’ commitment to
a programme of continual improvement and operational excellence. As an
approved supplier, Secure Mail Services plays a key and proactive role
in these efforts which drive further innovation and establish improved
benchmarks across the RBS supply chain.
