Keeping You Posted
22 May 2007
The Communication Workers Union, the main postal union,
is today issuing around 130,000 ballot papers to Royal
Mail workers asking them to support industrial action.
Although the results will not be known until 7th June,
media speculation remains high that a Royal Mail strike
could occur. If a strike does occur it may be as early
as mid June, which could lead to massive disruption
for businesses.
Are you prepared for a Royal
Mail Strike?
In the event that a strike is called, SMS, as part
of the DX Group, would like to help minimise the disruption
to your business.
Make sure your business can still
deliver
SMS clients can rest assured that the mail we normally
deliver on their behalf will be unaffected by Royal
Mail industrial action. To ensure the continuity of
service clients may wish to plan ahead and consider
additional secure mail volume that we could carry to
minimise such negative impact.
Your SMS Account Manager would be delighted to discuss
options with you, and pre-book additional capacity if
necessary.
Other DX Group services
Within the DX Group we are also able to offer other
business mail services to support our clients. These
include the DX Document Exchange – a pre 9am delivery
network used by 27,000 business Members, typically saving
30% against 1st class rates; as well as SecureDX, a
guaranteed next day delivery service, with signature,
to business and residential addresses nationwide - saving
up to 40% compared to Royal Mail Special Delivery*.
We are here to help
If you would be interested to find out how the DX Group
can help you manage your business requirements during
